About Dr. Mandeep Singh Dhillon

Dr. Mandeep Singh Dhillon, MBBS, MS(Orthopaedics), FAMS, FRCS, with illustrious experience of more than three decades, is working as Professor & Head of Orthopaedics Department at PGIMER, Chandigarh.


Apart from his extensive career stint with PGI, Dr. Dhillon also served SPS Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana and Apollo Hospitals Colombo. In Colombo, Dr. Dhillon was associated with the Sri Lanka Cricket team for 2.5 years as a Sports Injury consultant.


Dr. Dhillion completed his basic medical studies(MBBS) and post graduation MS in Orthopaedics from Goverment Medical College, Patiala. Subsequently, he attained FAMS from National Academy of medical sciences in year 2010 followed by FRCS from Royal College of Surgeons, England in year 2013.


Dr.  Dhillon during his acclaimed professional carrer spanning more than three decades, has performed more than 2500 arthroscopic procedures, numerous Joint replacements. More than 60 Postgraduates have been trained by him, and he has more than 200 major publications to his credit.


His areas of expertise include:

  • Arthroscopy and Joint replacement
  • Foot and Ankle surgery


To his credits, he has transcribed many chapters in different books related to Orthopaedics. His original scientific work has also been included in many textbooks, like Mercer’s Textbook of Orthopaedics. He was the Editor of the Indian Journal of foot surgery for 5 years and is on the editorial board of many national Journals. He has presented more than 150 papers at various conferences, and his work has been awarded the best prizes many a time.


Dr. Dhillon is a member of prestigious International organizations like SICOT, AFICOT, WOC, AO-International, which regularly invite him to deliver lectures at many centers and conferences abroad. He has been a Visiting Professor to Univ. of Malaysia & Singapore University and Hospitals in Liverpool, London, Hongkong and Germany. He was selected by the Indian Orthopedic Association as the INOR Fellow to deliver lectures in UK in 2000, as a World Orthopaedic Concern fellow to speak in Australia in 1999, and to visit Johns Hopkins Hospital in USA in 2002.
